Reminder: Communicate!

Hi!

I hope this first week back to school has been fantastic for you all. This is just a little reminder to communicate. I have had two instances today of people telling me they spoke with someone here about a situation that I should have known about. One was about lost books on someone's account and the other was about a personal item being returned in the bookdrop. Please be sure to communicate with the appropriate people so that we can better serve the patrons.

Access Services Students

Hello!

This is only for the daytime access services student assistants: you have newly assigned sections. You can find your specific section on your personal schedule page under your calendar.

Let me know if you have any questions. I will be checking these sections constantly to see if you are doing what you should be.

Welcome Back!

I hope all of your breaks were fantastic and you are revved up to be back at school! I know I am excited to see all of you.

Please remember that sometime today we need you to come in and confirm your schedule. Do this by 5pm today, otherwise it may be a while before we can have it officially fixed.

While you were gone we changed the video and cd collection. Most of the videos have been integrated into the stacks, they still have the 1 week check out time but they are in with the books now. All videos that have to do with film or music are in the new Giere, which is located at the top of the stairs in the main lobby. All cds have been moved the same place as well. You know that they belong there while shelving because the call number starts with the word GIERE.

Finals Week

Please remember that you work your regular schedule through tomorrow and start your special finals week hours on Sunday. Check your personal schedule if you cannot remember what you signed up for.

For all students working at the information services desk it is very important that you put the books on the cart in Dewey decimal system order. We get a lot of books back this time of year and the access students do not want to spend their time putting the books in order while they could be shelving. Please, please, PLEASE take the time to put them on the cart in correct order!

Good luck with all of your finals and studies. If I don't see you, please have a great Thanksgiving and break!

Carts

Hello,

People have been noticing that the carts in back are not in order. Please put the books on the cart in Dewey Decimal system order. If you don't know what that means, you should talk to me. I will be checking constantly to see if the carts are in order so do it right!

So, you guys totally did not listen to me about timecards this week. We had 9 people with problems, that is ridiculous! Please do better than this!
