The end of the term is rapidly approaching!  Please complete the following instructions as we prepare schedules for Finals Week and Winter Term.

1.      FINALS WEEK - All students are expected to work their regular work schedule through Saturday, November 23rd.  A finals week schedule is being prepared for Sunday, November 24th through Wednesday, November 27th.  All student assistants are required to sign up to work a minimum of four hours during finals week.  Please see Heidi by 5:00 on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 12th to sign up for your hours.

2.      WINTER TERM SCHEDULES - All student assistants who plan to work Winter Term will be assigned a work schedule before they leave for D-Term.  (If for any reason you don’t plan to work next term, please let Heidi know right away!!)   The appropriate schedule on this webpage should be completed to indicate when you will be available to work during Winter Term.  Please complete the form carefully and thoughtfully!  Also, remember that any form that does not leave enough hours for us to work with when assigning schedules will be returned for revision.  All forms should be given to Heidi by 5:00 on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 12th.

If you have any questions about this process, please do not hesitate to contact Heidi or me.

I-Share shelf

Hello!

I am getting reports that someone is putting Oesterle owned materials on the I-Share shelf.  These items do not belong here.  When our items are returned they should be discharged in the computer, taken to the back, resensitized, stamped, and put on one of the cart in Dewey decimal system order.  Only I-Share items should be placed on the I-Share shelves.

Thank you,
Heidi

Wireless

Hi!

You may have noticed that there is an NCC_guest wireless network now.  This is open to anyone who wants to use it.  It only gives access to the internet.  No access to printing or network information.  The password will always be available at the staff side of the information services desk.

Thanks!
Heidi

the PANIC button!!!!

Did you know that we have a panic button at the information services desk?  It's located right above the desensitizer and receipt printer.  You can see it in the picture below

And here it is close up

The panic button should only be used if people at the desk feel like they are threatened and are not able to pick up a phone.  Don't worry, in all of my years working here, there has never been a reason to use it.  To use the panic button you have to squeeze both buttons at the same time, this will alert the police that they need to get here right away.  Please do not press the panic button unless you are physically threatened and you cannot pick up the phone!  It is for emergencies only.

So, take some time this week and acquaint yourself with the panic button.  For bonus points, take a selfie with the panic button and send it to me.  Best picture wins a piece of candy.  You are automatically disqualified if you activate the panic button while taking the picture and $150 will be deducted from your pay for the false alarm police charge.  Submissions are due Sunday, October 20th, 11:59pm.

Have a great day!
Heidi

Printing Receipts

Hello,

I hear people are having problems getting a receipt to print at the information services desk while discharging an ishare book.  Please remember to have your default printer set to the "generic/text only" printer if a receipt does not print.  The way to check this is to go to your start menu, devices and printers, then right click over "generic/text only" and set as default printer.

Thanks!
Heidi

Reminder: Confidentiality forms and website checklists are due soon

Hello,

Just a reminder: the confidentiality sheets and website checklists we passed out at the dinner are due on Friday.  A lot of you have not turned these in, they are a requirement.  Please get them done and turned in!
