Couple reminders

Hello,

It seems that we have gotten a little relaxed on some going ons in the library that I need to remind you about.

1. It is never ok for someone to be sitting with you at a desk...like ever.  You should not be having someone study with you or visit you.  

2. When discharging I-Share materials each receipt should be separated and placed in each book.  Do not put one big receipt for multiple items in one item.  

I know it's the winter and we are in the thick of it but keep it together, people!

Access Services

Hello,

The sections have been assigned for access services.  You can find your assigned section in your schedule page under the calendar on the student assistant website.

You are responsible for your section.  This means that you are to make sure that it is in order, that it looks nice, that the signs are accurate, and to do the electronic inventory on it.

Open Shifts

Hello,

We have two open shifts for the term: periodicals desk Tuesdays 7-9pm and periodicals desk Wednesdays 9-Midnight.  If you would like either one of these shifts for the term please let me know as soon as possible.  Please remember that you cannot work 7 days in a row or for more than 20 hours a week on campus.

Winter Term Schedules are Up!

Your winter term schedules are up on the website!  Just move the calendar to the 2nd of the year and you will see your schedules.  Please remember that we will not open until January 2nd, so move it to the next week as well to see if you have any Sunday or Monday shifts.

Finals week schedules are finally up!

The finals week schedules are up on the website.  Also, there is a lot of open shifts, I have put them on the substitution requests.  Please take them if you are able.

D-Term Positions

Oesterle Library has the following student assistant positions available for D-Term:

           

     

THREE PART-TIME POSITIONS (approximately 20-25 hours per week)

• Expected to work the following dates:

November 27 - December 15

·         Hours will include daytime, evening and Saturday hours

Hours will also be available on the following dates during Christmas Break:

                             

·         December 18-20, 28-29

·         Hours available will be 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Student assistants working these positions will primarily be assigned to the Information Services Desk and/or the Periodicals Desk.  Student assistants may also be assigned to a few hours in other library units.

Preference will be given to applicants that:

• are able to work all hours and dates
• have an excellent attendance and work record

Campus housing is available during D-Term (November 27 - December 15).  Typically campus housing is not available during Christmas break (December 16-January 1).  Student assistants who have questions about the availability of housing during this time should contact the office of Residence Life.

Anyone interested in a position for D-Term should complete the application form by Noon on Friday, November 3^rd.
