Circulation this weekend

This Saturday, May 21st Voyager, the catalog, and our databases will be down from 4am to Noon.  If you are working Saturday in order to not have any confusion please do not open Circulation until Lindsey gives you clearance to do so.  If a patron wants to charge something from OESTERLE LIBRARY'S collection, you can use the manual charge form located on the student assistant website.  NEVER MANUALLY CHARGE AN I-SHARE ITEM!  If a patron comes in and needs an i-share item they will have to come in at another time.

Let me know if you have any questions.

End of Term Matters

TO:                  Oesterle Library Student Assistants
FROM:            Belinda Cheek, Coordinator of the Student Assistant Program
RE:                  End-of-Term Matters
DATE:              May 14, 2015

There are several matters that we must take care of before the term ends.  Please read this memo carefully!

1.            We need to know whether or not you are planning to return to North Central and your position at the library in the fall.  If you are returning, please complete a Fall Term schedule as indicated below.  If for any reason you do not plan to return in the fall, please fill out the not returning to Oesterle form to let us know your intentions as soon as possible!

2.            FALL TERM SCHEDULES - All of you who do plan to return to work Fall Term will be assigned a work schedule before you leave for the summer.  That work schedule will be for the first two weeks of the term only.  Priority during that time will be given to covering all night and weekend desk hours, and then daytime desk hours as available.  We will need to hire a large number of new student assistants during those two weeks, and we will be depending on all of you to help us keep operations running while we do that hiring!  Early in the second week of the term you will receive a new work schedule that will be in effect for weeks 3-10.

The form should be completed to indicate when you will be available to work during those first two weeks of Fall Term.  Please complete the form carefully and thoughtfully!  Also, remember that if you submit a schedule that that does not leave sufficient hours for us to work with when assigning schedules, the form will be returned to you for revision!  All forms should be given to Heidi by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 19th.

3.         FINALS WEEK - All student assistants are expected to work their regular work schedule through Saturday, June 4th.  A finals week schedule is being prepared for Sunday, June 5th through Wednesday, June 8th.  All student assistants are required to sign up to work a minimum of four hours during finals week.  You will find the sign up sheets on Heidi's desk.  Please sign up by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, MAY 19th.  If you have any questions, please see me.

Security Issue

The man who is on a NCC "no trespass" order for making physical contact with women's feet has been seen this week in a library in Naperville. Please take a look at the picture posted behind the door into the staff room to refresh your memory of what this man looks like. If you think you see him, please let the staff member on duty know immediately so that they can contact Campus Safety. Even if you're not quite sure it's him, please speak up! We'd rather be safe than sorry on this one. Also, if you see him anywhere else on campus, I encourage you to contact Campus Safety immediately.
