Fall Term Schedules

For those of you working Fall Term, your schedules for the first two weeks of term (September 14-27) have been posted on your online calendar.  Please take a quick look so that you know what to expect as Fall Term starts up!  If you have any questions/concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Finals Week Hours

Finals Week hours have been posted on the online calendars.  Please take a quick look at your calendar and make sure that your hours appear as you expect them too!  If you see any problems, please contact Belinda right away. 

Also, there are two 1-hour shifts at the ISD on Wednesday that are not yet covered.  They have been posted on the sub form.  If you would like to cover either shift, just use the sub form to let Belinda know.

The baby has arrived!

Emma Katherine Popovich was born on Friday, May 15 at 9:43 p.m.  Emma, Mom & Dad are all home and doing well.  We've posted a picture on Heidi's desk for everyone to see. 

Periodicals Room

Just a reminder,

It seems like we have had a rash of mis-shelving in the periodicals room.  Please shelve periodicals only under their respective label. If there isn't a place for a publication you are looking to shelve in Current Periodicals it may have a place in the Tyson Center's shelving. If there is a periodical you can't find or if you have any other questions you can always direct them to Patrick.

End of Term Matters

There are several matters that we must take care of before the term ends.  Please read this memo carefully!

1.            We need to know whether or not you are planning to return to North Central and your position at the library in the fall.  If you are returning, please complete a Fall Term schedule as indicated below.  If for any reason you do not plan to return in the fall, please fill out the not returning to Oesterle form to let us know your intentions as soon as possible!

2.            FALL TERM SCHEDULES - All of you who do plan to return to work Fall Term will be assigned a work schedule before you leave for the summer.  That work schedule will be for the first two weeks of the term only.  Priority during that time will be given to covering all night and weekend desk hours, and then daytime desk hours as available.  We will need to hire a large number of new student assistants during those two weeks, and we will be depending on all of you to help us keep operations running while we do that hiring!  Early in the second week of the term you will receive a new work schedule that will be in effect for weeks 3-10.

The form should be completed to indicate when you will be available to work during those first two weeks of Fall Term.  Please complete the form carefully and thoughtfully!  Also, remember that if you submit a schedule that that does not leave sufficient hours for us to work with when assigning schedules, the form will be returned to you for revision!  All forms should be given to Belinda by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 21st.

3.         FINALS WEEK - All student assistants are expected to work their regular work schedule through Saturday, June 6^th.  A finals week schedule is being prepared for Sunday, June 7^th through Wednesday, June 10^th.  All student assistants are required to sign up to work a minimum of four hours during finals week.  You will find the sign up sheets on Heidi's desk.  Please sign up by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, MAY 21st.  If you have any questions, please see me.

Our 33rd Annual Student Assistant Picnic is next week: Thursday, May 14th from Noon-1:30! You won't want to miss the food, fun, and special recognition of our graduating student assistants (at 12:45 p.m.).  Please join us even if you can only come for a quick bite to eat!  Please RSVP to Belinda (blcheek@noctrl.edu) by noon on Tuesday.
